Coaching Clinics

Coaching Clinics are available upon request by affiliated soccer clubs in the state of Vermont. It is the goal of VSA to provide our youth with educated coaches. We strongly encourage recreational coaches to complete age-specific youth module courses. The clinics are available for any recreation (in-town) or competitive club teams. The clinics are targeted primarily for the needs of the club. Coaches will receive official US YOUTH SOCCER coaching materials which include information on the art of coaching, learning through game activities, age specific games, and many other topics related to coaching youth soccer.

Please contact the state office to set a date for a coaching clinic.
$20.00 fee will be assessed for each attending coach.

Course Descriptions Minimize

E LICENSE

The “E” is designed for the parent/coach who may or may not have any previous soccer playing or coaching experience. The curriculum focuses on the development of the player, both individually and as a part of the team. The emphasis will be to build on the player’s technical development by applying tactical concepts within game situations. The course is geared to those coaching 11-14 year olds.

D LICENSE

The objectives of the “D” License are to prepare coaches working with players U13 and above by expanding their knowledge of the game and the developmental process necessary for players of these ages. It also provides an understanding of practical coaching methodology and the framework necessary to prepare players and a team for competition.

State Goalkeeping Diploma (Level I)

The overall objective of the State Goalkeeping Diploma is to explore some of the myths and mystiques surrounding the goalkeeping function. The six-hour course is directed towards the team coach - not the specialist goalkeeper coach. The object is to empower the coach with knowledge and practice methods that will enable the coach to evaluate a goalkeeper in game situations and then design an appropriate practice program for goalkeepers in and outside of team practices. The course includes lecture (theory) and field (practical) sessions.
