Recreational Leagues
In Vermont, many town recreation department sponsor their own soccer program in the fall. Some of these programs are Vermont Soccer Association members but many are not. You should contact your town's recreational department for more information.
Competitive Leagues
Vermont Soccer League -
The Vermont Soccer League was formed in 2004 by the merger of the Champlain Valley Youth Soccer League and the Green Mountain Soccer League. The VSL includes 3 Divisions. Division 1 includes premier or select clubs. Divisions 2 and 3 are made up of town based clubs. Each division provides an opportunity for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 to compete on a team against other teams of equal ability. The goal of the League is to provide opportunities to play soccer in a positive environment that promotes skill development, fair play, and good sportsmanship. VSA Fall League
In 2007, Vermont Soccer Association formed a Fall League for teams looking for competition outside of the Recreational Leagues. Currently this league serves U10 and U12 teams both boys and girls. The goal of this league is provide players the opportunity to participate in a league which encourages skill development, fair play, and good sportmanship in a competition atmosphere. This is a six week league running September/October.
Region I Leagues
Region I sponsors a series of regional leagues to provide a higher level of competition for teams above the state level but below the Region I Premier League (the highest level youth league in the northeast). The League is intended for teams able to play at their States State Cup finalist and runner-up level. You can get more information at www.region1.com .
