January 19, 2020 ODP Training at The Edge
US Youth Soccer ODP kicked off its scouting campaign for Regional ID/Training Camp by identifying 3 Vermont players at a recent Vermont State pool training attended by USYS ODP Technical Director John Curtis. When asked about his visit to Vermont, Curtis had this to say, "The Vermont ODP coaching and administrative staff did a fantastic job creating a competitive training environment for all the players to develop, learn and grow providing opportunities to supplement the development that happens at their clubs. USYS ODP will continue to track and monitor additional players for invitation into future regional and national camps."
"It was exciting to have John in Vermont in the first of a series of identification opportunities for our players," said Meg Munson, Executive Director of the Vermont Soccer Association. She added that "we are pleased with the direction that USYS is taking with the new ODP initiatives leading to collaboration between the MLS & NWSL and a National Training Camp." She pointed out that only one month into the training season of ODP, Regional Scouts are already further ahead in the identification process than in years past and hopes that more and more talented players will continue to come forward.
Families of players receiving an invitation to Regional Camp will be contacted directly by East Region Administration starting around the beginning of March.
